  **** MERCHANT BEWARE!****
  
  When we opened our second retail location we purchased POS hardware and software from Merchant Solutions. We needed a package that would allow us to manage inventory and pricing for both locations. The software they recommended was from CAP located in Fort Worth Texas. In total, we spent roughly $10,000 for the hardware and software.
  
  Merchant Solutions installed the system at our first location in the summer of 2012. They began the installation at our second location in September of 2012 and that is when the problems started. It quickly became apparent that their tech support people were not familiar with the software and they were unable to get the two stores to communicate. After weeks of working with Merchant Solutions and CAP Software they were never able to establish reliable communication between the two locations. As a result our inventory, pricing and customer information at both locations were totally screwed up. I called the owner of the company, Gary Hornstra, to let him know we could not go on anymore and wanted a refund on the software. Gary not only agreed he would refund my money but also indicated to me verbally that other customers were also having issues.
  
  In January of 2013 Gary sent me an email indicating that he would refund us $4,290 for the software. To date we received one check for $200 in February 2013. I have called him and emailed him countless times. He always says he will refund my money but does nothing. Initially he indicated he had to wait until he received a refund from the manufacturer. I contacted the manufacturer and was told Gary was never charged for the software. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau but Merchant Solutions never responded to it.
  
  This company reps multiple POS packages but in my experience they are technically incompetent is supporting them.
